Abstract

A surrealistic world of our mind and a recreation of the deep and hidden emotions we all experience. This multisensory VR experience tries to access the mind, represented by the brain that carries neurons of thoughts through electric wires, which transfer and formulate feelings and emotions, stored in four compartments. By going through and interacting with our own representation of inner thoughts, we are pilgriming indeed.

Surrealism, then, neither aims to subvert realism,
as does the fantastic, nor does it try to transcend it.
It looks for different means by which to explore reality itself.

Final VR Experiences

Players can navigate the space, interact with the scenes and find their way through various portals and key signs. Sound plays a huge role in setting the mood, and a multisensory experience for fog and wind adds to the realism.

The video on the left shows the professors and students at NYU ITP department experiencing the actual product during the project presentation. While wearing the VR experience device (Oculus Quest 2) and exploring the virtual space, they were able to feel multiple emotions such as grandeur, mystery, fear, emptiness and peace through the sound and visual effects.
